I’m a mum of two super energetic young boys who literally never stop so I know how challenging it can be to create a consistent daily routine. Between school, clubs, playtime, and the countless things on our to-do lists, it’s easy for routines to fall by the wayside. Plus, I still have to work! How we manage it all, I’ll never know. But what I do know is that establishing a structured daily schedule is a way of making our lives much easier and it provides our little ones with stability, healthy habits, and fun!

1.Morning Routine

Mornings can be chaotic, especially when trying to get everyone ready and out the door on time. We have forgotten everything from water bottles to having shoes on the right feet! But by setting up a consistent morning routine, you’ll make things smoother for yourself and provide a calming structure for your children. Start the morning with a few predictable tasks, like brushing teeth, washing faces, and having breakfast. Consider turning these into small rituals that your children look forward to, like singing a song while brushing or letting them help set the table for breakfast.

Even the best routines need flexibility, especially with young children. Some days, naps might go longer, or an outing might extend snack time, and that’s okay! Adjusting to your family’s needs and energy levels on any given day is part of keeping a routine sustainable.
