Don’t let summer pass you and your wardrobe by. Honestly, I no longer keep clothes for special occasions. Every day deserves celebrating and we deserve to feel great every day, not just a couple of days a year. Right? So let’s get talking about the summer dresses you need to try, whether you’re heading to brunch on the weekend, a wedding or just to the park with the kids, you deserve to feel great and live well. Here are 4 ways to make the most of the sunny weather in some amazing, confidence-boosting women’s summer dresses.

Be Bold
Wearing bold block colours is a sign of confidence. Your outfit is shouting to the world “I’m here, you can see me, and I’m fabulous!”. Summer is about bringing bright colours to life. If you’re used to wearing dark colours or prefer to hide away in the warmer months, please give this a try! I love this dress from the Very Curve range. Not only is it super floaty and cool, but block colours like pinks and reds can really make you glow in the sun and before you know it, you’ll have people complimenting you left right and centre. I love that it gives me holiday vibes when I might just be popping into the shop for milk and bread. It’s comfortable, and easy to put on if you’re short on time but packs a punch. Perfect!

Bardot Babe
If you’re a little self-conscious about your arms (like me) a Bardot dress is the absolutely perfect way of keeping cool, but confident. The off-the-shoulder style helps keep you cool, get a little sun and looks effortlessly stylish, all while covering the tops of your arms. (I’m not saying we should cover our arms, but I’m talking about feeling confident, so if that’s your self-conscious issue, a Bardot dress is perfect for you.) I love this animal print dress from Yours at Very because it’s nice and stretchy at the top, so you can wear it as high or as low as you want. It’s also really light for the warm weather and pink with red is my favourite colour combo (if you didn’t know already, haha!) Plus, maxi dresses and animal print dresses are a MUST have in any wardrobe because they never go out of fashion.

Wrap it up
I’m always here for a wrap dress. It gives off confidence, and style, makes dressing on trend so easy with minimal effort and it’s great for all body shapes. No matter the size of your chest, hips or belly, the wrap part of a wrap dress means you can wear it comfortably for YOUR body shape. This stunning example is from the Judi Love collection at Very. (I love Judi!). The dress has a gorgeous satin feel, wraps beautifully around twice and the print is bold enough to ooze confidence and style. This could cover you for everything from wedding guest outfits to back-on-the-school run throw-on style. It’s so easy but because it’s a wrap dress, the fit is chefs kisses

Add it on
You might have found the perfect dress, but don’t forget to add a couple of essential accessories. So for shoes, my main rule is comfort! If you’re don’t comfortable with the things that are keeping you moving, you’re set to fail. It’s incredible how much more confident you’ll feel if you don’t have to worry about your shoes. These Yours sandals from Very are super comfortable, perfect for any occasion and the sparkle means they’re a little bit special too.
I’d also suggest a cross-body / messenger bag because it means your hands are free to eat more, drink more, dance more and generally have more fun without worrying about your belongings (also, you don’t have to wear it conventionally either, I shortened mine and wors it as a bum-bag!)
No matter what kind of dress you decide to wear this summer, just remember that you deserve to feel confident, wear what you love and live your best life. We only have so much summer, so let’s make the most of it and shine bright!
