Three Ways to Look After yourself in the New Year

We’re about to get hit with all the new year new you advertising and it’s a lot to take in. It’ll be everywhere from TV adverts to office chit chat. But you know, there’s the obvious things people will talk about. Such as losing weight, exercising more and the usual new year resolutions. But what about the parts of you that get forgotten year after year but are some of the most important assets that we have in day to day life? Wondering what I’m talking about? Here are three things that you might not have thought about that you should aim to get checked and looked after in the new year

Ears

Those wonderful things on the sides of our head that we pay almost zero attention to until something starts going a little wrong. If you’ve had any ear concerns this year it’s time to get them looked into. Don’t rely on the internet for advice, and don’t self diagnose. The ear is a magical place and needs professional treatment. So if you’re worried about your ears, now is the time to get them looked at!

Feet

If you think about it, your feet take an absolute pounding every single day. You’re on your feet constantly. They’re also not the nicest things to look at are they if we’re honest. I mean, it’s no wonder they’re called ‘plates of meat!’. But if you’ve been hiding your feet away for whatever reasons (and there could be many….) then now is the time to get them looked at. If you think it’s a medical issue, you can make an apt with your local GP, if it’s a cosmetic issue, treat yourself to a pedicure and get your trotters ready for summer!

Back

We all get back pain occasionally, but if you’ve got that niggling pain that isn’t going away, it’s time to get it sorted before it turns into an irreversible issue. Slip discs, sciatica and other back issues are no joke and you can end up in the hospital for days or even weeks. Book yourself in with a chiropractor and get it looked at. It’s amazing how they can help reduce or even stop back pain altogether. At the very least they can give you professional advice on how to help prevent any future damage. Prevention is better than cure!

So as we head into the new year, sort out those little health issues that have been grinding away in the back of your head. You’ll feel so much better for it, and it’ll help you prevent things from getting worse down the line. It’s time to look after the parts of us that we so often take for granted!
